The Masters of Aikido
The art of Aikido
with the Founder Morihei
Ueshiba
The history and tradition of aikido lies in the pure
foundations of aikido.
The Originator of Aikido was none other than
Morihei
Ueshiba a long standing pupil of the famous
Takeda Sokaku sensei
The head of Daito-ryu
Aikijujutsu,
Ueshiba Sensei had many students just as his sensei before
him, you will find a list on the net, we hope to produce one soon
On that list you will find from the first generation
(1921-1935) Kenji Tomiki, Gozo Shioda, Rinjiro Shirata.
The second generation (1936-1945) Koichi Tohei, Tadashi Abe.
The Third generation (1946-1955) Morihiro Saito, Seiseki
Abe
The Fourth generation (1956-1969) Kazuo Chiba, M Saotome,
Terry Dobson,
Many of these great Sensei's removed themselves to begin
teaching in there own form of Aikido using the foundations they were taught by the Founder himself, just
as Kenji Tomiki was sent to train with Morihei Ueshiba by his
sensei Jigoro Kano The great Founder of Judo, so as to learn all that he could from
this man Ueshiba.
Gozo
Shioda broke away and formed the
Yoshinkan Ryu (school) which today is one of the major styles of Aikido, Koichi Tohei sensei created the style of
Shin shin Toitsu, putting the emphasis on understanding the concept of Ki,
Morihiro Saito sensei
continued the form of aikido as he was taught by the Founder. And so on the great masters of Aikido still to this
day influence us with their diversity in teaching forms and skill of techniques.
Train Hard Train Focused Train Safe.
